San Cristóbal de Las Casas Implements Creative Knowledge Platform Action Plan

Posted by:

San Cristóbal de Las Casas, designated a UNESCO Creative City of Craft and Folk Art in 2015, is embarking on a new project utilizing the Creative Knowledge Platform. Their goal is to document the local heritage of San Cristóbal and the region of “Los Altos de Chiapas”, creating an archive of traditional knowledge by recording its craft processes and characteristics. Over the course of 2018 and 2019, San Cristóbal de Las Casas will undertake phase one of its project, systematically documenting each of its 10 barrios. Each Barrio will feature a craftsman, a craft product, a point of interest and a typical ingredient or dish common to that region. The results from phase one of their project will be presented in Fabriano, Italy at the XIII Annual UNESCO Meeting.
