Posted by:

From September 30th to October 1st 2017, representatives related to gastronomy from around the world gathered in Dénia, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, to celebrate the D*NA Dénia Food Festival.

During the food festival, attendants were given booklets that contained information on the traceability and traditions of the unique ingredients of Dénia (Click here to discover more). In the booklet, the history of each ingredient could be accessed through a Qr code linked to TRusTTM, an information and food traceability platform, sponsored by ITKIUS, the US branch of the International Traditional Knowledge Institute, which aims to promote local communities through valuing traditional knowledge.

On the 30th September and 1st October, at the Marineta Cassiana seafront promenade in Dénia, guests could attend culinary demonstrations carried out by chefs from the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy. The chefs cooked native dishes from their cities and offered local produce tastings for those attending the event.

Through QR Codes, both on cards handed out and on panels placed on the table during the chef’s culinary demonstrations, the public could access the TRusTTM platform to find out more about the city, chef, recipe, and typical ingredients of each UNESCO Creative City of the Gastronomy.
